fear
that something called out in front
of you
the day before day
when you called yourself desperate
in trying
to find
the voice
for all the quiet screams
played out in front of mirrors
since you never act alone
and you will always be there
for yourself
that perfect reflection
of a rictus
one only one you have seen on stage
that perfect absence of tragedy
one only you have laughed at
while wiping tears
sketched onto the veins of your eyes
bloodshot
tired
of lies mirroring each other
in the vastness of your mind
all walled up by mirrors
of despair
alleged
believed
returned
the day before the day
that something called out in front of you
was fear of fear
(inspired by the sounds of ‘Return 2’ by Max Richter)
